Rosita Petra Gallegos

Rosita Petra Gallegos, 34, embarked on her final journey on August 5th, 2026, at UCHealth surrounded by her loving family. Rose/Rosita of Greeley, CO was a trailblazer for herself and those around her. She would face all of life’s challenges with grace and strength and would empower others to do the same.

After graduating with her GED, Rose committed her life to helping others. She had a unique ability to connect with people on a profound level, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Rosita had a wanderlust soul, forever seeking new horizons and experiences. Her infectious smile and laugh will always be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Giles Waits; mother, Nancy Gonzales; father, Concepción Sanchez; and siblings, Angel Gonzales, Concepción Jesus Sanchez, Jr., Adalinda Sanchez, and Horbelino Sanchez; all from Greeley, CO. Rosita is also leaving behind her fur babies Max, Bella, Ditto, and Eevee.

Rosita will meet once again with maternal grandparents, Jaunita Gonzalez and Martin Martinez Gonzales, and paternal grandmother, Jaunita Nevada.

May Rosita’s legacy of humor, perseverance, and learning will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her. A viewing will be held at Adamson Life Celebration Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4-7pm. A Rosary/Mass to honor her incredible journey will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley on Wednesday August 12, 2026, at 10:30am.
