Sylvia Lee Parker, 90, passed away peacefully on March 11,2026. Sylvia was born on October 8, 1935, in Walsh, Colorado to Lela and Cecil Howard. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1953.
At the age of 15 and in high school she met her future husband, Vernie Parker. He was in the Army and they married in 1953.
Sylvia raised her family and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for several companies retiring from Union Colony Bank. She also volunteered as a Sunday School teacher at Galeton Community Church. She was a 4H leader and volunteered at Right to Read and had been involved with Al-Anon for 48 years.
In her retired years she enjoyed traveling to Europe and Hawaii. One of her favorite spots to go to with her family and husband was their vacation home for over 23 years at Glen Echo Resort in the Rocky Mountains. She loved watching her Colorado Rockies.
Sylvia is survived by her sons Jimmie (Cheryl Klee), Jerry Parker, Joe (Christine) and her sister Sharon Bessler, grandchildren Jennifer (Roe) Morales, Nicholas (Jowanna) Parker, step grandchildren, Harry and Lucy Blohmann. She also leaves behind her numerous nieces and nephews including Matthew, his son Adler Street and Amanda (Ryan) and her daughter, Leighla Allan. Sylvia is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Parker, Lincoln and Everett.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Lela and Cecil Howard and husband Vernie Parker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Adamson Life Celebration Home on Friday March 20th, 2026 starting at 11:00AM with a reception to follow.
