James Howard Culhane
October 16, 1958 — May 18, 2026
James Howard Culhane, born on October 16, 1958, in Washington, DC, passed away peacefully in North Carolina on May 18, 2026. He lived a life marked by kindness and a warm, welcoming spirit that left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him.
James was deeply devoted to his family, particularly to his four beloved daughters: Angela Frye, Terri Culhane, Sharlatte White, and Alicia Hopkins. His love for them was a defining feature of his life—always a source of strength and joy. Those who knew James understood that his family was his greatest pride and the center of his world.
He was born to John Joseph Culhane, Sr., and Lois Richoux Culhane, both of whom have preceded him in death. He also mourned the loss of his brother, John Joseph Culhane, Jr. Despite these profound losses, James found support and companionship through the years from his surviving sister, Elizabeth Culhane Durand and Daniel Robert Durand (Brother-in-law)
A memorial service celebrating the life of James Howard Culhane will be held on June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Advent Funeral & Cremation Services in Falls Church, Virginia, located at 7211 US-29. Friends, family, and all who were touched by James are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose gentle presence and generous heart enriched their lives.
In remembering James, we honor a man who carried himself with humility and kindness, forever cherishing those closest to him. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt, yet his spirit remains alive through his daughters and those who loved him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who knew him.
