John J. Larounis

John J. Larounis, 65, of Great Falls, Virginia, passed away on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

After graduating from the University of Richmond in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, John continued his studies at the VCU School of Dentistry, earning his degree in 1986. He spent nearly twenty years caring for patients in private practice in Queens, New York.

John lived courageously with multiple sclerosis for many years, facing its challenges with quiet strength and unwavering resilience. His perseverance, humor, and devotion to his family and friends never faltered, even as the disease progressed. He ultimately passed away from complications of MS, leaving behind a legacy of love, dignity, and steadfast faith.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elisa, and their children: Nicholas (Erin), Joseph (Kasey), Alex, and Christopher. John was a proud and joyful grandfather to Peter and Charlotte.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Great Falls, Virginia. A reception in the church hall will immediately follow the Mass, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate John’s life.

John will be remembered for his warmth, his sense of humor, his devotion to those he loved, and the quiet courage with which he met life’s challenges. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.

John’s favorite charity was Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Donations may be made in his memory.
