Nancy Sue Walker-Gruenbaum

Apr 23, 1950 — Oct 16, 2026

On October 16, 2026, Nancy Sue Walker-Gruenbaum entered into her eternal rest. We find peace knowing she is now in the hands of her Savior, whom she loved and served throughout her life as a dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Born in Miami on April 23, 1950, Nancy walked through life with a gentle, enduring spirit. To know Nancy was to know kindness. She was the woman who always had a smile for everyone, a person who lived to be helpful and giving. She found her joy in the simple, honest rhythms of daily life. Whether she was busy coloring, tending to her garden, riding her scooter, or making her rounds at Bealls, she lived with an open heart.

For thirty-one years, Nancy brought that same steady care to her work in payroll at Royal's Inc., but her true life’s work was her family. She loved her daughters and grandchildren with a fierce, quiet devotion. Those closest to her hold onto a specific, beautiful memory: the sound of her laughter, particularly when she was gathered with her daughters and family. It was the kind of laughter that grew until they were crying, giggling, and struggling to catch their breath. It was pure, unfiltered joy.

Nancy’s heart was full of love, especially for her husband, Gerry Gruenbaum. They were joined in marriage at Faith Lutheran Church on July 30, 2022, and shared a deep, supportive bond.

She leaves behind a family who feels her absence deeply: her husband, Gerry; her daughters, Lorie Potts (Timmy), Leslie Dyess (Travis), and Lisa Crumb (Greg); her grandchildren, Cole, Paige, Adrian, Melania, Brody, Logan, and Nevaeh; and her precious great-granddaughter, Rowan Jane. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Teri Putnam (Charles) and Gail Kries (Dan), along with her step-grandchildren, Ellie, Asrai, Hexli, and Gabe.

Nancy taught us what it means to be sweet and full of love. She has finished her race, and we commend her to the grace and mercy of the Lord.
