Ercell Wayne Lott
July 20, 1953 — March 4, 2026
Ercell Wayne Lott Sr., known affectionately as Wayne, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Born on July 20, 1953, in Prince George, Virginia, Mr. Lott lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep commitment to both his family and community.
A graduate of Ft. Myers High School, Wayne’s journey through life was distinguished by his steadfast nature—persistent, subtle, open-minded, yet undeniably stubborn in his resolve. His character traits served him well throughout his varied and accomplished career.
Wayne proudly served his country for over two decades in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His military tenure was marked by his participation in elite units including the Rangers, Special Forces, Airborne, and the First Battalion. In addition to his active military duty, he dedicated time to the National Guard. His military service stands as one of his proudest accomplishments, reflecting a profound devotion to duty and country. He was also an active Mason, another source of pride and community connection.
Following his military career, Wayne channeled his leadership and work ethic into entrepreneurship, owning and operating his own air conditioning and heating business. This endeavor was not only a professional milestone but also a testament to his perseverance and commitment to providing for his loved ones.
Wayne’s personal life was enriched by his love for fishing, camping, and softball—simple pleasures that allowed him to create lasting memories and enjoy the great outdoors. He also cherished moments spent dining out with his family, valuing those occasions as opportunities to connect, share stories, and celebrate the bonds that held his family close.
Wayne is survived by his son, Ercell Wayne Lott Jr., and his daughter Tonya Junker, along with their spouses, Beatrice Lott and Michael Junker, respectively. His son Everett Eugene York and wife Michelle York also survive him. Wayne’s family circle extends to his sister Sheila Bess, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, each carrying forward his legacy and the love he so deeply embodied.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tanya Jo Lott, sister Carolyn May, and his beloved spouse Roberta Lott, whose memories remain a cherished part of his life story.
Ercell Wayne Lott Sr.’s life embodied the virtues of service, family, and resilience. His contributions to his country, his entrepreneurship, and his devoted family life leave an enduring heritage. In remembering Wayne, we honor a man who gave wholly to every chapter of his life, who embraced challenges with determination, and who cherished those he loved with a steadfast heart.
