Betty Jo Rohloff

Betty Jo Rohloff, 83, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, due to an illness.

She was born April 24, 1943, in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of Wendell and Thelma (Crapsey) Merritt. After graduating from Alliance High School, Betty attended 1 year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As for her professional career, she worked for the Greeley Tribune for many years. Betty also worked at Walmart and Best Aire Heating and Cooling over the years.

She was a 53-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. Betty was an avid reader and that was her favorite pastime. She often said that if she wasn’t able to read, she would no longer have a life. Her favorite quote reads: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” by Maya Angelou.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Mike (Jen) Galloway, Allen Galloway, and Sean (Sandra) Galloway; her daughter, Kelly Mendez; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Floyd) Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

There will not be any services at this time. Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Estes Park, Colorado. Time and place will be discovered at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to All States Cremation of Colorado. Online expressions may be sent to the family at www.altogetherfuneral.com.
