Donald Leroy Petersen, 95, of Parker, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. He was born on October 1, 1930, in Limon, Colorado, the son of Roy W. and Petra J. (Johnson) Petersen.

Donald was a devoted husband, having shared 41 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Doris J. (Stockwell) Peterson. Together they built a life rooted in love, resilience, and dedication to family.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War era. During his time in the military, Donald worked as a Seabee, where he was known for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.

A shelter service with military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. If you’ll be attending, please meet at Staging Area WHITE by 9:15 a.m. and remain with your vehicle. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post 1 located at 5400 E. Yale Ave. Denver, Colorado 80222.
