Raymond Charles Jones, III, 76, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Born on March 8, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Raymond Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Griffith) Jones, Jr. He attended Father Judge High School in Philadelphia where he played football and was an All-Catholic tight end. After graduating from high school, he received his bachelor's degree from Drexel University in Pennsylvania. Raymond was a fearless salesman and a very creative businessman who worked tirelessly to put deals together through determination, vision, and persistence. He will be lovingly remembered for his sharp mind and wit until the very end.
He faithfully read The New York Times digitally cover to cover every day and never missed watching PBS News. A man of many interests, Raymond enjoyed hiking, skiing, traveling, working out at the gym, and photography. Raymond was especially proud of his granddaughter, Abby, with whom he cherished spending time and creating lasting memories with.
Left to cherish his memory is one sister, Denise (Bryan) Deely; a sister-in-law, Joanne Jones; niece, Michelle (Michael) Batdorf; nephew, Patrick Jones; great niece, Olivia Batdorf; one granddaughter, Abigail Ortiz; and his former wife, Leanna Dolan-Jones. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael J. Jones.
Raymond lived a full and accomplished life marked by hard work, devotion to family, intellectual curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the people around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Evergreen Memorial Parks Barn Chapel in Evergreen, Colorado. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood. Services have been entrusted to All Veterans Funeral and Cremation, Colorado.
