Connie Christine Jewell

Connie Christine Jewell passed away July 12, 2026, at the age of 64. She fought a hard battle with cancer, and was surrounded by her family when she died.

Connie grew up in a blended family, with an older sister and younger brother. With many moves through her growing up years, she had the opportunity to experience adventure, travel, new cultures, and even new languages. From California, to Denver, Tulsa, New Orleans, El Paso, Amarillo, and finally, Guatemala, where she graduated from high school, Connie eventually settled in Colorado, loving the mountains. She completed a BS in Chemistry and worked in her field until she retired. Connie married and had a son Jonathan. After a divorce, she raised Jonathan on her own during his growing up years. She would say that it was her greatest joy to raise him. She was involved in her grandchildren’s lives, enjoying spending holidays with them, and cooking special foods. Connie loved doing crafts and was very creative with making jewelry, and doing hand work. She also enjoyed playing video games, and had an online group of friends who were special to her. Connie was an animal lover, especially loving her cat, Sami, who was with her throughout her illness. Connie loved mexican food, and often requested burritos - cooked just the right way, with green chili sauce! She had a laugh that could make the whole room laugh, and even through her illness and pain, she could laugh and share that with others. She showed great fortitude and courage throughout her illness.

Connie is survived by her father, Jon Kirkpatrick of Silverthorne, CO, and her mother, Susan Martin of Golden, CO, her son, Jonathan Robert Jewell of Golden, CO, and Jonathan’s children: Leon, Alister, Jonathan Jr., and Katya. Surviving siblings include Shannon Shaw of Austin, TX, and Richard Kirkpatrick, of Henderson, TX.

Connie is very much missed by her family and friends. The family is grateful for her life, and now her peace.
