Gladys Elisea Gurule, at the age of 79, stepped into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 in Denver, CO. Gladys was born in Penasco, NM to the late Hilio and Carlota Pacheco.

Gladys was preceded in death by her ex-husband Leroy Gurule and her sister Lorraine Graham.

Gladys is survived by her 2 children: Craig Gurule (Stephanie), Charles Gurule (Stefanie); 2 grandchildren: Joshua Cumbee Gurule and Christian Vassilaros. Siblings: George Pacheco, Rita Martinez, Paul Pacheco, Cindy Lopez, Kenneth Pacheco, and Dee Dee Romero plus countless nephews and nieces.

Gladys lived a life deeply rooted in faith, guided by the Holy Bible, and poured out in love for her family and community. Her unwavering belief in Christ was the compass of her life, shining brightly through her kindness, grace, and tireless servant’s heart.

Gladys earned a degree in Pastoral Theology, and she was able to show Christ’s love through counseling and donating her time to underserved communities by connecting Pueblo area residents to local medical, food, housing and infrastructure resources.

Memorial service, Thursday October 1st 11 am at Praise Assembly of God Church, 2000 Troy Ave, Pueblo CO. Reception at Praise to follow service.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Colorado chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Gladys Gurule.
