Barbara Elaine Prokop

Barbara was born on May 3, 1932 in Denver, Colorado to Margaret Irene Stephens and Richard Kasdorf.

In 1936 after her parents divorced, she moved to Rawlins, Wyoming to be raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Ethel and Sidney Stephens. She had a wonderful life with them.

In 1953 she moved to Washington DC with her best friend, they rented a house with 3 others girls and begins working for the Navy Department.

Friends encouraged her to attend a dance at the NCO Club in Quantico, Virginia. Needless to say, she met her future husband and the rest is history as they say.

Bob and Barb were married June 16, 1956.

Four children followed, daughter Jeanne (1958), Sons Robert (1959), Richard (1960) and Bernard (1966).

The couple lived in the DC area, on to Ohio and then to Denver. The return to Denver was fueled by her aging mother.

Living in north Denver for a couple of years and then building their home in Arvada in 1970

Barbara worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and retired in 1993.

Retirement gave her the opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and worked on her cross stitch and meet with friends for lunches.

Barbara was preceded by her husband Robert and son Richard.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jeanne (Russ) Bratton, son Robert (Kathy), grandchildren Robin and Sidney, great grandson Adrian, son Bernard (Magda) grandsons, Henry, Frankie and Charlie
