Christian Kaleb James Schmid
July 22, 1998 – June 7, 2026
With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Christian Kaleb James Schmid, age 27, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 7, 2026, in Englewood, Colorado.
Christian was born on July 22, 1998, in Canon City, Colorado. Throughout his life, he was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering compassion for others. He never knew a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply sharing his smile, Christian touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Christian worked as an electrician and took pride in his work. He was hardworking, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He found joy in staying busy and helping others, both on and off the job.
Christian loved adventure and embraced life with a free spirit and an open heart. He loved the outdoors and found peace in fishing, camping, and spending time in nature. Whether exploring new places, enjoying time with friends and family, or simply being outside, Christian appreciated the beauty and wonder of God's creation. He had a deep love for animals and shared a special bond with his faithful dog, Leo, and beloved cat, Cyrus, who were treasured companions and brought him immense happiness.
Above all else, Christian loved Jesus with his whole heart. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided the way he treated others—with kindness, grace, compassion, and unconditional love. Christian's gentle soul, generous heart, and unwavering faith will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Christian is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Heather and Michael Hughes; his father, Johnny Schmid; his grandfather, Joel Driscoll; his stepbrother, Jordan Hughes; his step-grandparents, Terry and Sue Hughes; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were blessed by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bethe Driscoll; his great-grandmother, Linda Driscoll; and his great-grandfather, Larry Driscoll.
While our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Christian is now at peace, embraced by the love of Jesus and reunited with those who have gone before him. Though his time on earth was far too short, the impact he made through his kindness, faith, love, and adventurous spirit will live on forever.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
