Edna Maurine Martin

Jun 28, 1946 — Aug 28, 2026

Edna Maurine Martin (née Beaty), of Edgewater, CO, passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2026, at the age of 80.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Beaty and Joyce Beaty (née Curran), and her husband, Jack Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Michell Cameron; son, Les Martin; daughter-in-law Mandi Martin; grandchildren Jeramii Martin (Steven Petruzzellis), Emily Cameron (Don Osthoff), and Andrew Cameron (Claire Ihle); and great-grandchildren Aubrella Upchurch and Esme Cameron.

Edna was born on June 28th, 1946 in Lakewood, CO to Ernest and Joyce Beaty. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1964.

Edna married Jack Martin on September 6th, 1964 at the First Methodist Church of Golden. They were blessed with two children, and bought their family home in Edgewater in 1969, where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Edna worked in food service for Jefferson County Public Schools, in the cafeterias of Lumberg Elementary School and Jefferson High School. She was devoted to the students she served; when she knew a kid's family was struggling to afford school lunches, she'd make sure they got something to eat whether or not they could pay.

Edna's grandchildren were among the great joys of her life. She never missed a birthday, sent cards for every holiday, and always had sweets and snacks in the cupboard.

Edna was a long-time donor to the Food Bank of the Rockies and Humane Colorado (formerly the Denver Dumb Friends League). She loved animals more than she loved most people.

Edna struggled with kidney failure during the last years of her life. She chose to stop dialysis after almost a year of treatment, and transitioned to comfort care. Edna's final days were spent at home, surrounded by family.
