Eugene Martin Louser
May 1, 1947 — Jun 11, 2026
Eugene “Gene” Martin Louser, age 79, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 11, 2026.
Gene was born on May 1, 1947, in Ransom, Kansas, and relocated as a young child with his family to Northern Colorado. After choosing to serve his country in the US Army right after high school, Gene lived a life defined by devotion to family, hard work, kindness, and an enduring curiosity about the world around him. He was known for his generosity, quick wit, strength of character, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. As a proud veteran, Gene enjoyed memberships with the American Legion and the local Elks Club. Through his friendships, community involvement, and unwavering support of those he loved, Gene left a lasting impression on countless lives.
A skilled machinist by trade and a “fixer of all things mechanical” by nature, Gene spent much of his life solving problems, building, repairing, and creating. Whether at work or at home, he had a remarkable ability to understand how things worked and the patience to make them work better. His talents earned the respect and admiration of colleagues, friends, and family alike. Outside of work, he found joy in reading, watching old Westerns with his wife, listening to music, cooking, and experimenting with new recipes. He especially cherished time spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and the wisdom that came from a life rich in experience. Those who knew Gene will remember his distinctive sense of humor, his remarkable knowledge of countless subjects, and his penchant for engaging in conversation about almost anything.
Above all, Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Isabella “Scottie” (McEwan) Louser; his daughter, Shannon (Louser) Christner; his son, Sean Louser, and Sean’s significant other, Jen Robison; his four grandkids, Aidan Louser, Gavin Louser, Cameron Christner, and Owen Christner; his brother, James Louser; his sister, Kathleen Todd; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Stanley Sence; his sister, Sandra Grover; and his son-in-law, Christopher Christner.
Gene’s legacy of love, integrity, generosity, and humor will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family and friends.
