Janet Darlene Brunell
Feb 8, 1934 — Jun 20, 2026
Janet Brunell
Janet was born, Janet Darlene Reynolds, in Etna, California, February 8, 1934. Her Mom’s name was Ruth Evelyn Lacey, and her Dad’s name was Alfred Reynolds. They had 3 children: Elaine, Janet, and Vernon. Alfred passed away with Tuberculosis when Janet was 3 years old. She was later adopted by Neil J. Weber.
All together, Janet had 5 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet went to the 10th grade and she married Matthew Brewer on December 22, 1950 at the age of 16. They had 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys. It took Matthew several children to get his boys but it finally happened. In 1960, Matthew moved the family from Vacaville, California to Denver, Colorado. It was there that the children grew up, leaving their relatives in California.
From her 6 children, Janet had 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Janet and Matthew divorced in 1968.
Janet married James Brunell in December 4, 1969 and they were married for about 6 years when he passed of a heart attack on March 3, 1976.
She later met Lou Ryason and he passed away after several years.
She met Dean Cummings and later married him on September 12, 1998. He passed away, November 19, 1998 of bone cancer in Lochbuie, Colorado.
Janet then remained single the rest of her life.
Janet loved going places like Black Hawk, Central City, Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak, Cave of The Winds, Seven Falls, and Estes Park, among other places, whenever she could.
Janet was a stay-at-home Mom but she took in ironings for people around the neighborhood to help with the bills. Later she worked at Factory making bags, and later at an Executive Shirt Laundry in the back of a Dry Cleaners.
She and Dean had their own Key and I.D. Business at The Mile High Flea Market for several years. After the business closed, she still continued to go to the Flea Market for several years to see her friends there! She and Bill loved to go there and also fishing, together.
Bill took care of Janet for the last several years…they were always very close. We have all helped over the years and she will really be missed.
Janet passed away on Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Nursing Home.
She was Preceded in Death by: her Mother, Ruth (Lacey) Weber, and her Father Alfred Reynolds, and her Step Father Neil J. Weber.
