Janie Lynn Martin

Janie Lynn Martin, born July 3, 1955, and passed on July 22, 2026, was a fierce and loving mother and grandmother, and a caregiver to all the children around her. She made our home a place where everyone felt welcome and wanted to be. She showed us that real courage could be bold, a little cheeky, and always laced with humor. She approached life with a fierce and honest spirit, never holding back, and that’s how we’ll remember her. She had a way of lighting up a room and turning ordinary moments into something special. She found meaning in the stars, the moon, and the wisdom of tarot cards. That cosmic spark was part of her essence, and whenever we look up at the night sky, we’ll carry her spirit with us. Mom, I will always love you and carry a piece of you with me forever.

REMINDER: We’re just 2 days away from the Celebration of Life BBQ for Janie Martin. Join us anytime between 4pm–8pm at Centennial Park. We’re doing a Potluck BBQ — if you’re bringing a dish, please let me know. If not, no worries at all. We already have people bringing extra water. We’ll be at the big pavilion right by the park, closest to the main area.
Address: 4630 S Decatur. It’s supposed to be over 100°, so please bring sunscreen. Pets are welcome if they're friendly please just keep in mind the concrete will be hot for their little paws. Janie wanted to be remembered with joy, so we’ll have food, music, laughter, and stories celebrating the incredible woman she was. All are welcome. Please share. Let’s make this epic.
