Joseph John Stavast

Joseph John Stavast of Lakewood, CO passed away peacefully September 13, 2026 at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, Navy veteran, and accomplished businessman who had a passion for golf.

Joe was born and raised in Denver, CO and served in the military as a Naval Flight Officer aboard the F-4 Phantom. He was part of the elite pilot training program that would become widely known as TOPGUN.

Following his military service, Joe built a successful career in real estate, but golf was always his true passion. Rolling Hills Country Club became his second home, where he spent countless hours on the course, surrounded by friends and enjoying a game he loved. Joe recorded an incredible five holes-in-one in his lifetime.

He was also an exotic car enthusiast, with a particular appreciation for Ferrari, Porche, and Mercedes Benz.

Joe will be remembered not only for the things he accomplished, but for his charismatic personality. He had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor, a generous spirit, and an ability to make good company even better. He always left people with a story to remember or a joke to retell.

He is survived by his children, Vann, Amanda and Kelli, and his grandchildren, Grace, Annabelle, Liam, Halle, Lily, Violet, Camille, and George.

Papa Joe, aka Grandpa Joe, will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
