Michael William Jones
Feb 12, 1960 — Sep 24, 2026
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Michael William Jones, 66, of Denver, Colorado
(formerly of New Castle, DE) on Thursday, September 24, 2026. He lost the battle with COPD
and Addison disease after several years of struggle.
He was the son of the late Corky and Chris Jones and the late older brother, Ricky Jones. He is
survived by his wife of seven years, Lorrie Jones, his younger brother in Texas, Ted Jones (wife
Kathy), his older sister of Middletown, DE Lori Cardenti (husband Mike), and his younger sister
of New Castle, Tracy Libetti. And many nieces and nephews - two of which Julian and Chelsea
live in Colorado.
While living Colorado, Mike worked construction for several years for professors from the
School of Mines in Golden, CO. Mike was a master carpenter and everyone loved his work.
Mike worked at Fox Siding for many years in Delaware prior to going to Colorado. He came
very close with Jim and Connie Fox’s children, Crystal and Little Jim. Little Jim and Mike
would spend much time hunting and sporting events. Mike loved to share his knowledge with
little Jim of the outdoor world which he loved.
He was an advent hunter and cherished the deer season. Sitting in a deer stand up in a tree
waiting for the perfect buck to walk past. Mike enjoyed the time spent with friends hiding in a
duck blind. His love of God’s creation was where he truly found peace. He loved the Colorado
mountains and blue skies. He had a great love for music, all types and enjoyed concerts at Red
Rocks.
Mike was also a pin ball wizard playing in Red Lion tournament with his friend Keith King.
Mike was a very enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan. Many hearts were encouraged even after
he moved out to Colorado to see him live on social media. He would put on his crazy eagles
outfit share the “E-A-G-L-E-S fight song.
Mike you will truly be missed
