Stephany “Steph” Ann Bomhoff (Knopfle)

December 6, 1950 - August 4, 2026

Stephany “Steph” Ann Bomhoff (Knopfle), born December 6, 1950, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2026, surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Jennifer “Fatty Girl.”

Steph celebrated 50 years of marriage to her husband, David Kent Bomhoff, in September 2025! Together, they built a family and a lifetime of memories. Her devoted husband, David, and her beloved son, Justin Owen Bomhoff, preceded her in death.

Steph was a loving mother and grandmother, Her family was what she cherished and she gave unconditional love to her children and grandchildren. , She had a special gift for creating traditions, memories, and little moments that made her loved ones laugh and feel special.

From an early age, Steph loved horses and became an avid barrel racer, a passion she enjoyed for many years before she began their damn near perfect role as a mother. She also worked as a preschool and daycare teacher for many years, where her creativity shone through in the projects her students created.

Later in life, Steph worked for 15 years in the Emergency Room at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, before retiring.

Steph was also a wonderful cook, and some of her greatest recipes became treasured family favorites. Her “hamburger crust pizza” was always a favorite, and her potato salad so delicious it was considered famous to the family. These dishes were more than food—they were part of the memories, comfort, and love she brought to her family.

Steph was endlessly creative and loved putting her personal touch into the lives of the people she loved. She lovingly cross-stitched Christmas stockings for family members, creating keepsakes that will be treasured for years to come. She also delighted in making birthdays special, often gifting family and friends with her unique candy bar birthday cards.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful spirit, especially when it came to family traditions. One of her most memorable traditions was leaving Taco Bell burritos or Chubby’s burritos for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. And because Steph believed every family member deserved to be part of the holiday fun, the kids would often receive Christmas gifts “from” the family pets. These little traditions were uniquely Steph—creative, playful, and filled with love.

Steph is survived by her daughter, Jodi Chapas; grandchildren Wade Driscoll, Sadie Driscoll, Lacey Driscoll, Laura Vossel, Bethany “Sis” Vossel, and Joshua “JJ” Vossel; and their mother, Gina Driscoll.

Steph’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply, the traditions she created, the recipes that will continue to be made and remembered, the handmade treasures she left behind, and the countless memories shared around holidays, birthdays, and everyday moments.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will carry her love with them always—and will think of her every time they make her potato salad, enjoy hamburger crust pizza, or decide what burritos Santa should get on Christmas Eve.

Steph’s love, laughter, creativity, and unforgettable spirit will remain in their hearts forever.
