Daniel Aaron Kost

June 8, 1984 — April 25, 2026

Daniel Aaron Kost, 41, passed away at his home in Colorado Springs, CO, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, after battling numerous health issues over the past five years. He was a beloved Son and a loving and devoted Father to his children.

Daniel attended Northglenn High School in Northglenn, Co, and graduated in 2003. He attended Remington College in Colorado Springs, focusing on a career in Information Technology, but soon realized that IT and college were not for him. He then pursued several different occupations, finally deciding to follow his passion as a cook working in the food industry. He excelled in this field and worked at multiple local restaurants until the COVID pandemic impacted his work. Outside the food industry, he continued working at the Children’s Hospital as part of the maintenance staff and just recently began working at a 7-11 store near his home.

Daniel shared his life with his wife Shali, and they shared many happy years together, bringing Malachi and Malaya into this world. Unfortunately, their life pathways went in different directions, and eventually they separated and divorced. Years later, after their separation, Daniel found another special person, Jaqueline, to share his life, and they began a relationship that brought his two youngest children, Luca and Uriah, into this world.

Daniel had a special gift for making friends wherever he went and for turning the tragedies that affected his life into funny and humorous tales that would make you smile and laugh. His quick wit, his laughter and kindness, and the love he gave so freely will be the memories held forever in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. His recent job at 7-11 allowed him time to interact with new people and to develop new relationships with people, some of whom he would help by paying some or all of their bill, just to help them out. While he didn’t travel out-of-state often, he would often share the memories of those trips with his family. In recent days, he walked many of the city trails in the neighborhood, and when driving with him, he would often share with us locations where we would have the best overview of Colorado Springs. He was also a fan of all the Colorado sports teams, but had recently focused on Volleyball to support Malaya’s pursuit of that sport. He played football, basketball, and baseball, but baseball was always his favorite.

He is survived by his four beloved children: Malachi Josiah Kost, Malaya Janae Kost, and twin boys Luca Christopher and Uriah Alijah Kost, his parents, Del Ray and Irene Kost, his Sister Crystal Rae Kost (Rizo), his Niece Shyla Raquel Rizo, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and close friends who will forever cherish his memory. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mabel Kost of Scotland, South Dakota, Michael Porras and Mary Olivarri, and his beloved Nephew Alijah Vialpando.

Daniel’s memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 9:30 A.M. at Trace Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Family will meet at the Golden Corral after the graveside services are complete for those who would like to join them. The address is: 1970 Waynoka Road, Co. Springs, Co. 80915
