Dawn Patricia Tyler

May 29, 1937 — May 12, 2026

Dawn Patricia Tyler, 88, was a wife, a loving mom, a dedicated nurse, and truly the rock of her family. She had an adventurous heart. After graduating with her BSN in upstate New York, she packed up and moved to Alaska in the 1960s, to begin her work as a public health nurse – an incredibly bold move that showed just how brave and independent she was.

She later married Wally Tyler, who was in the Air Force, in Alaska and they were married for 60 years. They built a life filled with love, resilience, and family. Dawn was the proud mom of six daughters, each one shaped by her steady strength, her compassion, and the way she loved without limits. She was also grandmother of four amazing grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and her influence lives on in the women her daughters grew up to be. She was strong but gentle, adventurous but grounded, and always the center of her family. Her legacy lives on in the daughters she raised, the marriage she built, and the many lives she touched—both through her nursing career and through her personal relationships, always marked by humor and a positive spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
