Faith Elaine Steinkraus

Faith Elaine Parrott Steinkraus went into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Colorado Springs, CO; she was 91. She was born in Cass City, Michigan on February 8, 1935, to William and Faye Parrott, the youngest of five.

Attending Wheaton college, Faith earned a degree in home economics. While at Wheaton College Science Station she met William Steinkraus who was pursuing a degree in Geology. They fell in love and graduated in 1957 and were married a year later.

Faith began her teaching career in home economics and later 5th grade in Michigan. She and Bill moved to Louisiana in 1961 where Bill worked for Chevron. They had two daughters Dawn and Rosalie. As their daughters began school, Faith also returned to her teaching career. Through the years she also wrote curriculum for Union Gospel Press and partnered with her husband in his passion for the Gideon ministry.

Eventually Bill and Faith moved to Northern Virginia, and then to Dublin CA where Bill worked at Chevron. They later moved to Colorado Springs CO to be near Rosalie and her family. Through these years Faith continued to work for Union Gospel Press.

As well as being a prayer partner with many, she enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, and time with her daughters, grandchildren and many relatives from Michigan.

Because of her relationship with Jesus Christ, Faith is now with Him in heaven. It is so comforting to remember the passage from scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:8 ‘to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.’ Faith is absent from the body and her hope has been realized.

She is survived by daughters Dawn (Allen) Christman and Rosalie (Bob) Boyle, 2 grandchildren Ashley (Kyle) Barhite and Elizabeth Boyle, 3 great grandchildren, Daisy, Annabelle, and Koa Barhite. Faith was preceded in death by her husband, William Steinkraus and grandson, Robert Boyle, her parents William and Faye Parrott, her 4 brothers, Wendell, Maurice, Gail and Bill Parrott. Faith developed a close relationship with Carol and Ricardo Huerta when they located to Colorado Springs. Carol and RIcardo were so loving and caring for Faith in her later years.

A memorial service will be scheduled next summer for Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be submitted to The Gideons International P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
