Jean "Jeannie" Louise Monette Parsons

Nov 15, 1954 — Aug 4, 2026

Jean "Jeannie" Louise Monette Parsons was born on November 15, 1954, in Hallock, Minnesota. She was raised in the Pembina, North Dakota, area and graduated from Pembina High School with the Class of 1972. Following high school, she attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks before beginning a career in Civil Service at Grand Forks Air Force Base.

Jeannie's career eventually took her to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, where she met the love of her life, Michael Parsons. The two were married in December 1986 and began a life together filled with service, adventure, and dedication. Throughout Michael's military career and Jeannie's own Civil Service career, they made several moves, returning to Grand Forks Air Force Base for five years before relocating to Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. After a year there, they settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Jeannie continued her distinguished career at Peterson Air Force Base. Over the years she served in a variety of positions, concluding her career as secretary to the NORAD Inspector General. She was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to those she worked alongside.

Above all else, Jeannie cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and someone whose quiet strength, kindness, and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Jeannie passed away on August 4, 2026 after a courageous battle with ALS. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur S. "Dick" Monette; her mother, Edith Louise Monette (Little); and her brother, Mark Monette.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 40 years, Michael Parsons; her son, Jacob Parsons and partner Josh; and her sisters, Laura J. Monette (Ladouceur) of Fountain, Colorado and Diane Monette (Binning) and Ruth Monette (Sorenson), both of Salem, Oregon. She also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and former colleagues who will remember her with great affection.
