Katherine Louise Hopson
Sep 14, 1944 — Oct 27, 2026
- In Loving Memory of
- Katherine Louise “Kathy” Hopson
September 14, 1944 – October 27, 2026
With broken hearts, but a lifetime of beautiful memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Katherine Louise “Kathy” Hopson, who went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 82.
Kathy was born on September 14, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee, and spent 26 years making League City, Texas, her home.
How do you put into words the life of a woman who meant so much to so many? Kathy wasn’t just any woman. She was one of the strongest women we ever knew. She was a fighter, a protector, and a woman who faced life’s challenges with a strength that many could only admire. Life wasn’t always easy, but she never let the hard times define her. She stood tall, spoke her mind, and loved her family in her own special way.
Kathy was the true definition of a lady with class and sass! She had a personality you couldn’t forget, a strong will that couldn’t easily be shaken, and a heart full of love. She could make you laugh, tell you exactly what she thought, and remind you just how strong a woman could be, all in the same conversation.
For many years, Kathy cared for children through babysitting, touching the lives of many families along the way.
She loved shopping, sewing, and cooking. And if there was one thing everyone could agree on, it was that nobody cooked quite like Kathy! Her food was simply the best. The meals she prepared, the conversations shared around the table, and the memories made in her kitchen will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Kathy shared more than 50 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Zelno Ed Hopson. Together, they built a lifetime of memories and a family that will continue to carry their love and legacy forward.
Kathy is survived by her loving children, David, Tommy, Robert (Bobby), Carmen, Troy, and Christy, along with her cherished grandchildren, who will forever carry a piece of her love, strength, and unforgettable spirit in their hearts. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she leaves behind, and the memories they shared with her will be treasured for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Zelno Ed Hopson, who passed away on April 9, 2021, and her cherished children, Floyd and Tina.
While saying goodbye is never easy, we find comfort in imagining the beautiful reunion that awaited her in Heaven. After all the years apart, she is finally reunited with her husband and her precious children, Floyd and Tina. What a beautiful moment that must have been when they welcomed her home with open arms.
For those of us left behind, the world feels a little different without her in it. There will be an empty place at the table, familiar meals we’ll wish we could taste just one more time, and moments when we’ll long to hear her voice or see that unforgettable personality shine through.
But Kathy leaves us with something that death can never take away: her love, her strength, and a lifetime of memories.
She taught us that being strong doesn’t mean life is always easy. It means getting back up, standing your ground, and continuing forward even when life gets hard. That strength will live on through her children, her grandchildren, and generations to come.
Kathy, we hope you knew just how much you were loved. We hope you knew how much your strength meant to us and how many lives you touched simply by being you.
We will miss your cooking, your laughter, your stubborn streak, your stories, and every little thing that made you who you were.
You were one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like you.
A lady with class, a whole lot of sass, and a strength that will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Kathy. Until we meet again, we will carry you in our hearts, speak your name with love, and treasure every memory.
Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Never Forgotten.
