Sumiko MacLeod

Sumiko MacLeod, age 95, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on April 19, 2026, at Advanced Healthcare of Colorado Springs. She was born on August 29, 1930, in Japan to Hideyo Ishii and Yoshiko (Uehara) Ishii.

Sumiko was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to caring for her home and family, always ensuring her loved ones were comfortable and well cared for. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed many creative pursuits, including oil painting, crocheting, knitting, baking, and sewing. Her sewing talents were exceptional, having received formal training at a sewing school in Japan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Kenneth MacLeod.

Sumiko is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” MacLeod of Colorado Springs; granddaughter, Jamie MacLeod of Colorado Springs; two brothers in Japan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sumiko will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
