Timmy “Tim” Davis passed away on September 16, 2026, just days after his 64th birthday.

Born on September 13, 1962, to Tom and Laura Davis of Wilmington, Delaware, Tim grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. One of 13 children, Tim was the third youngest in a large family where family, laughter, and time together were an important part of his early life.

Tim attended New Britain High School and went on to attend Norwich University, as well as art school in New York. His appreciation for art and creativity stayed with him throughout his life. He enjoyed creating his own art projects and had an appreciation for drawings, paintings, and the creativity of others.

Following his graduation in 1980, Tim joined the Connecticut Army National Guard. In 1984, he began flight school, launching a distinguished military career. He went on to become a Chief Warrant Officer 5 Apache Maintenance Test Pilot. Even after his retirement, the title remained a fitting part of his identity, and to many who knew him, Tim was simply “Chief.”

On May 11, 1985, Tim married Tami Keehn after a whirlwind courtship of just 29 days. On their 41-year life adventure, they raised four children: Kendall Braxton, Joshua Davis, Cailin Davis, and Jarrod Davis.

Tim was also a proud grandfather to Emmory, 14; Easton, 12; Akaiya, 9; and Arya, 7. He especially enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandchildren, working their ranch and creating art projects.

CW5 Ret Timmy Davis served his country honorably for 36 years. During this time of service to our nation, he served in various military posts from Jacksonville, FL, Fort Hood TX, Fort Rucker, AL, Fort Meade, MD with the National Guard Bureau in Washington D.C., with his final assignment in Norad-US Northcom as the Inspector General in Colorado. During this time, he had multiple Combat deployments for which he was decorated.

Beyond his family and military service, Tim was a dedicated wrestling coach who made a lasting impact on countless young athletes. He challenged them to work hard, believe in themselves, and develop both confidence and character. Many of the lessons he taught on the mat extended far beyond the sport and stayed with his wrestlers throughout their lives.

Tim will be remembered for his dedication to service, his leadership, his creativity, his sense of humor, and the way he showed up for the people in his life. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, soldier, pilot, artist, and friend, and his influence will continue through the many lives he touched.

Tim is survived by his wife, Tami; his four children, Kendall Braxton, Joshua Davis, Cailin Davis, and Jarrod Davis; his four grandchildren, Emmory, Easton, Akaiya, and Arya; his sister Tammy Davis, as well as his extended family and many friends.

In honor of his lifetime of service, Tim will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors, a fitting final resting place for a man who dedicated so much of his life to serving his country.
