Charles Cleavorn McGuire, 88, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the IVY Thornton Memory Care.
He was born September 19, 1937, in Waurika, Oklahoma, the son of Clarence Webster and Dovie Lee (Laney) McGuire. Charles served in the United States Army as a Clerk Typist from 1960 to 1962. He worked as the superintendent of maintenance for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years. He married Delzene Fay Brake on April 26, 1958. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2000.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Susan (Vern) Gantt of Henderson, Colorado, Renee McCracken of Lochbuie, Colorado; one son, Kirk (Pam) McGuire of Thornton, Colorado; four grandsons: Heath and Chad McGuire of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Ryder and Raymond McCracken of Lochbuie, Colorado; and three great granddaughters: Ava, Mila, and Harper McGuire all of Fort Lupton, Colorado. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife of 42 years, Delzene McGuire.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Aspen Mortuaries located at 1350 Simms St, Lakewood, CO 80401. Chaplain Steven Gatdula will officiate. Private burial of Charles’ cremated remains next to his wife, Delzene at Fort Logan National Cemetery, will take place at a later date. Services have been entrusted to All Veterans Funeral and Cremation of Colorado. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.altogetherfuneral.com.
