Edmund Frank Pawlowicz

Edmund “Ed” Frank Pawlowicz, 85, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at AdventHealth Parker. 

Ed was born on April 2nd, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio to Edmund Edward Pawlowicz and Genevieve Rita (Kurdziel) Pawlowicz. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Ann Sisneros, Sharon Jean (Tom) Peirce, and son, Mark Edward Pawlowicz; his grandsons Zach Peirce, Bryce Andries, and Ryan Andries; his brother, Richard Melvin (Del) Pawlowicz; sister, Marcia Jean Karamol; and a sister in law, Elizabeth Bialorucki. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers in law, Jerry Karamol and Melvin Bialorucki.

He attended Saint Anthony’s and Saint Hyacinth’s Polish Catholic Grade Schools, and Toledo Central Catholic High School. He caddied for years at Toledo’s Inverness Club, including a stint in the 1957 U.S. Open Championship. He was awarded an Evans Scholarship and a National Science Foundation Fellowship to The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, and his Ph.D. in Geophysics. 

He served two years as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, Civil Engineer Corps (“SeaBees”), then went on to teach Geology and Geophysics as an Associate Professor at Bowling Green (Ohio) State University. He left teaching and moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked as a Senior Technical Writer and Editor with Brocade Corporation. 

Ed was a member of American Mensa, Intertel, and the Polish Club of Denver. He enjoyed cooking, especially Mexican, French, and Indian, gardening, particularly growing his treasured heirloom tomatoes, and traveling, particularly international travel, and especially to Sturgeon Falls and North Bay in Northern Ontario. He was particularly proud of his Polish heritage, and studied Polish history, culture, and traditions. 

Cremation will be accorded. Services will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special thank you to Smoky Hill Family Physicians.
