Edward Charles Ronco
Sep 20, 1941 — Sep 27, 2026
Edward (Edd) Charles Ronco, age 85, passed away from pneumonia on September 27, 2026 at Hallmark Nursing Center in Denver, Colorado. Edd was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on September 20, 1941, to Joseph Anthony Ronco and Elaine Edith Ronco. His family lived in Cranston, Rhode Island until they moved to North Miami, Florida in the early 1950s where he graduated from North Miami High School in 1960.
Edd served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1968. He joined the service to see the world and was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida for all four years.
Edd worked for AT&T for 20 years, beginning in Miami then Ojus, Florida. He was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia in 1996, working as a programmer in Norcross, Perimeter Center, and Alpharetta, Georgia.
While in Norcross, he met and married fellow co-worker, Donna Fambrough. Then Edd became a girl dad to Margaret (Peggy) Elaine Ronco and Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Ronco.
In 1989 Edd took early retirement from AT&T when Donna was transferred to Orlando, Florida. There he began employment with Walt Disney World, a favorite place of his. He had several different jobs, including an engineer on the steam trains in the Magic Kingdom, the trains at Animal Kingdom, and driving the Jungle Cruise boats. He loved interacting with the guests, and making them laugh with jokes made on the spot. Even after he retired, cast members continued to call him for jokes!
Edd retired from Walt Disney World in 2004 and spent his time volunteering with the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville, Florida.
In 2013 Edd and Donna moved to Englewood, Colorado, to help take care of their daughter, Peggy’s, new babies. Of course, a few years later their other daughter, Beth, started having grandbabies so the trek between Colorado and Florida began.
While in Englewood Edd created a model train layout with running steam trains in the basement of their house. He worked on that layout daily until he couldn’t anymore.
Once an umpire in the Little Leagues, he became a diehard baseball fan. His favorite team was the Boston Red Sox. He took every opportunity to see their games live, and watched all the rest at home every season.
Edd is survived by his wife, Donna Ronco, his two daughters, Peggy Moroney and Beth Ridenauer, and four grandchildren, Colin and Faye Moroney and Emily and Andrew (Drew) Ridenauer.
