Gary Frances Edgerton, 74, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, August 16th, 2026.
He was born May 23rd, 1952, in The Dalles, Oregon, the son of Elmer Jay and Rosemary (Beymer) Edgerton. After graduating from Alisal High School, Gary proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1972 until he was honorably discharged in 1976. He later received his bachelor's degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Denver. He worked as a computer systems architect for the Department of Defense for 30 years. Gary married Eleanore Rykowski on January 27th, 1973, in Salinas, California.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 53 years, Eleanore Edgerton; his daughter, Angela (Kevin) Schmidt; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Hinson and William Singletary; and three sisters: Susan Haskins, Diana Ralph, and Marilyn (Grover) Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Teresa Edgerton.
Gary was a man of strong faith and a longtime dedicated member of The River Church in Littleton. He enjoyed traveling beside his wife in their fifth wheel, camping, and fishing. After retirement, he was able to devote much of his time to his greatest passion, woodworking.
He will be lovingly remembered as a devout and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
A shelter service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. If you plan on attending, please meet at Staging Area RED by 9:45 a.m. and remain in your vehicle at that time. Parking areas are limited, so carpooling is recommended. Services have been entrusted to All Veterans Funeral and Cremation. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.altogetherfuneral.com.
