Gunnar Thomas Stuehrk, 25, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 22, 2000, in Millville, Pennsylvania, Gunnar was the beloved son of Thomas J. Stuehrk and Mary F. Stuehrk. He was a graduate of Millville High School, where his warm heart and easygoing nature made him well liked by many.

A veteran, Gunnar served in the United States Army from 2019 to 2022. During his service, he spent time overseas stationed in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and Poland where he learned to drive and maintain Bradley Fighting Vehicles, displaying dedication and a strong work ethic. Upon his return he was was stationed at Ft Stewart In GA. Following his discharge, Gunnar pursued a career in construction, naturally gravitating toward the painting industry. He especially loved exterior painting, as it allowed him to work outdoors doing what he enjoyed and spending time in the mountains of Western Colorado.

Away from work, Gunnar had a gentle and joyful spirit. He loved to fish, finding peace and happiness by the water. He had a remarkable gift for connecting with young children, who were always drawn to his warmth, patience, and playful heart—a love that shone brightest in his deep devotion to his 15-month-old daughter, Jocelyn Violet Stuehrk whom he cherished with all his heart.

Gunnar lived life with a vibrant spirit and a deep capacity for kindness and connection. Whether he was sharing a laugh, making memories with those he held close, or simply bringing warmth to a room, his presence was a true gift to his family and friends. Though his time here was far too short, the impact of his love, his laughter, and the beauty of his character will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Thomas J. Stuehrk and his wife, Louise, and Mary F. Stuehrk; his siblings, Colton Thomas Stuehrk, Rachel Megan Miller and her husband, Vaughn, Lillian Christine Stuehrk, and Aselin Grace Stuehrk: his cherished niece, Finnley, and nephew, Cole; and countless other family members, friends, and brothers-in-arms who will miss him deeply and cherish his memory every day.

He was preceded in death by his beloved nephew, Kaytou James Edward Carney.

As Gunnar would say “Tomorrow is a brand-new day”.

A celebration of Gunnar's life will be held to honor his service, his spirit, and the immense love he brought into this world in Pennsylvania at a time and date TBD.
