Virginia E Martelli

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia (Ginny) Martelli, who departed this life on September 21, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born in Sterling, Colorado on April 17, 1940, Virginia spent her life caring deeply for her family and those around her. Her gentle spirit and warmth made everyone feel welcome. 

Virginia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, known for her kindness, sense of humor and dedication to her family. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  She will continue to cheer in heaven for her beloved Denver Broncos.  She was a great fan.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Bessie Gardner and her brothers Eugene and Robert Gardner.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Grant) Dickinson, sons Gary Schneider and Robert Schneider. Jr., grandchildren Cody Dickinson, Julia (JW) Redell, Jayleen (TJ) Wood and step grandson Jamie Foster, great grandchildren Jemma and Jon Redell, Kinsley and Addie Wood, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love,  generosity and encouragement will live on through all of them.

A short funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 12:30pm, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO. All who knew and loved Virginia are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. Celebration of Life to follow at Lake View Event Center, 7864 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232 from 1 to 4pm where we can all share photos and stories of her remarkable life. She would be thrilled if everyone wore Denver Bronco attire. A light lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, Help Fight RA (helpfightra.org) in Virginia’s memory.

Virginia (Ginny) will be deeply missed but never forgotten in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
