Glenn Dean Jacobson

Glenn Dean Jacobson passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on September 30, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, Glenn spent his childhood in Wheat Ridge, where he graduated from Jefferson High School before proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam War, a commitment that reflected the quiet strength and sense of duty he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Glenn worked at Gart Brothers before beginning a long career as a Mail Handler with the United States Postal Service. He was known as a hardworking, humble, and remarkably intelligent man who could fix just about anything. Honest and kind to everyone he met, Glenn earned the respect of friends, coworkers, and family alike.

Glenn found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, skiing, or scuba diving, he was happiest surrounded by nature. Family members often joked that he was famously running late, unless he was headed out to fish. He also had a memorable way with words, often declaring something was “tighter than a bull’s butt in fly season” whenever a strap or rope had been secured especially well.

A lifelong Lutheran, Glenn was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church and remained steadfast in his faith. During the final chapter of his life, he found great comfort in the words of Psalm 23.

Above all, Glenn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared more than 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Brenda. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Michelle (Jonathan), Nicole (Travis), and Danielle (Ben); his cherished grandchildren, Gavin, Michael, Jeffery, Mikayla, and Quinn; along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbridge and Florence; his half-brother, Wallace and his wife, Nancy.

Though his family knew him by many names, his grandsons’ favorite was simply “Papa.” His steady presence, gentle wisdom, willingness to help, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held in late September or early October, near what would have been Glenn’s 81st birthday. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
