James R. Pringle

Mar 15, 1955 — Oct 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) R. Pringle, cherished brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. Jim was born on March 15, 1955, in Glenwood Springs, CO to Andrew (Junior) R. Pringle Jr. and Thelma L Pringle. He departed this life October 08, 2026 after a bravely fought battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew (Junior) & Thelma Pringle, his brother Robert (Bob) E. Pringle and his great niece, Isabella Stehle. Jim is survived by his brothers William (Bill) A. Pringle and Lindy R. Pringle (Lee Ann), his niece Carrie L. Stevens (Cody), his 3 nephews Barry Pringle, Lindy Pringle, Jr. and Dillon Covington, and his three great nephews Zack & Alex Stehle and Jax Stevens.

Jim was a devoted son, brother, uncle & great uncle, serving as the caretaker of his entire family. He was the greatest first-time uncle to Carrie, traveling from Broomfield to Pueblo with her on many weekends to visit Grandma & Grandpa Pringle. Coming from a family of all boys did not prepare him for this journey but he aced it!

Jim was a proud veteran, serving his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force. His service to his nation was a source of pride that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, Jim embarked on a successful career with the US Forest Service and then the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), eventually retiring in 2013.

When Jim retired, he volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital for 13 years. He enjoyed assisting people in troubled times anyway he could. Jim embraced everyone he met along his life’s journey, finding good in everyone he met.

Jim had achieved numerous accolades along his life’s journey which one would never have known if speaking to Jim. He was not one to be boastful. Many of these were discovered by the family only during his illness. He received his Master’s Degree from Regis University in Computer Science, graduating with Honors. It is interesting that he and his co-workers Kendall Jones and Gary Schmidt were instrumental in developing and introducing the Forest Service Region 2, Y2K action plan. They all receive a heartfelt ‘thank you’ from the Forest Service and a special commendation and metal from the Presidents Commission on Y2K.

Jim enjoyed life on a grand scale. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, Jeep’n & ATV riding off road. Jim also enjoyed driving any one of his classic cars. Jim still owned the first new car he ever purchased, a 1978 Jeep CJ5. He created many memories and put many miles on that old Jeep as well as on his motorcycle.

Let’s talk friends …Jim had many. The family have met so many of his wonderful friends during his medical journey, some spending countless hours with him during his 6-month battle and at his side on his last days. He had life-long friendships with many of his co-workers and so many from his daily walking routine in the parks. All those friendships were very important to him.

Jim lived a wonderfully full life with many life adventures and accomplishments. All this from a boy that was suspended from kindergarten-not even his baby brother Lindy could beat that!
