Clay Owen Worth Jr.

Clay Owen Worth Jr. Born November 15,1934 died July 3, 2026. He is survived by his Loving Wife Claudia Worth and his children, Jay Loren Worth, Clay Owen Worth III, aka Bud, Janette O’Brien (Dan) , Bradley Worth, David Worth ( Jennifer) , Daniel Worth (Kacie), and twins Chris and Jacob (Shanna). Clay also has 10 grandchildren Clay Owen IV aka Jessie, Justin, Chris and Jacob (Adopted by Clay and Claudia Worth), Bethany, Brynlee, Katlyn and Brianna Worth and Kyle and Maura O’Brien, and two Great-grandchildren Clay Owen V aka Lee, and Leilani Worth. Clay worked in building maintenance as an electrician and mechanic at Martin Marietta, Coors Brewery, and retired from RTD in 1999. He was born in Garber, Oklahoma. He is survived by his sister Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel (Wooden) and Clay Owen Worth, Sr., and his siblings William, Loye, Gary and Ronald.

Clay arrived in Denver in a model A Ford in 1939 with his family and was raised in the Denver area and attended Brighton area schools. Clay left school to support his mother. His first job was setting pins in a bowling alley. He worked at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal from the age of 18 until he joined the Marine Corp in August of 1954. He taught Morse Code in Cherry Point, North Carolina while a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was able to read Morse Code for the remainder of his life. He left the Marine Corps at the age of 23 and met the love of his life Claudia Rae Ruffert who was working as a waitress at Harners Restaurant in Denver, across from Bear Stadium. He had a job selling Brother’s sewing machine in a four-state area at that time. The couple married three weeks after they met and celebrated their 69th Anniversary October 31, 2025.

Clay will be remembered for his devotion to his family and for his love of old cars and he loved collecting toy cars. He taught his children to drive in the Model A Ford. He was a Wood Carver and loved fishing and was an avid outdoorsman in his youth. He was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union 1001, he was a Member of Wheat Ridge Historical Society, and the Natural History Museum. He was a member of Harvest Christian Church in Wheat Ridge.

A funeral with a military honors ceremony will be held July 21st. 2026 at Fort Logan at 11:00 AM. Staging Area Red.

A reception will be held after the funeral July 21st 610 Coors St. Golden Colorado, at 1:00.

Family and friends are welcome at both funeral and Celebration of life Reception.
