John Earl Greenwood, 85, passed away on July 16, 2026. Born on March 18, 1941, in Liberal, Kansas, John lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family.

After growing up in Kansas, John made Colorado his home, where he built a successful career, met the love of his life, and raised a family. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the integrity, discipline, and sense of duty that characterized him throughout his life.

John enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career with Lockheed Martin, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his professionalism, hard work, and commitment to excellence. Following retirement, he remained active and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

An avid sports fan, John was a loyal supporter of the Denver Broncos through every season. He also had a lifelong passion for golf, country music and spent countless enjoyable hours on the course. During his retirement, he was a proud member of Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club, where he forged many lasting friendships and created cherished memories.

Above all else, John was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharyn Greenwood; his sons, Marcus Greenwood and Timothy Greenwood; and his sister, JoAnn Greenwood.

John will be remembered for his sense of humor, his dedication to his family, and the example he set through a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Services to be held at Ft Logan on August 3rd - 8:30am and celebration of life at Pinehurst Country Club on August 12th 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
