Emily Theresa Romero

Emily Theresa Romero, age 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Falcon, Colorado.

Emily was born on October 9, 1949, in Alamosa, Colorado, to Augustine and Romancita Romero. She spent her early life on the west side of Colorado Springs and attended Palmer High School.

Emily dedicated much of her working life to serving others. She worked as a nail technician for approximately 20 years, building lasting friendships with many of her clients. She later began a career in property management with Centerpointe Apartments, where she worked for 20 years before retiring. During her time there, Emily was well respected and appreciated by her employer, coworkers, and the many residents whose lives she touched.

Emily enjoyed reading, watching movies and television—especially foreign dramas—painting, and spending time in prayer. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her life.

Emily is survived by her loving daughters, Shelley Wilson and her husband Paul Wilson, and Christine Abeyta. She was a proud grandmother to Andrew Manke and his wife Kaitlyn Manke, Ashley Justice and her husband Shayne Justice, and Cody Dixon and her husband Tyler Dixon. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Liam, Jaxon, Riley, and Baker Dixon; Brayden and Joelle Justice; and Noah and Jonah Manke.

A memorial service will be held at The Springs Funeral Services – North. A private family viewing will take place at 11:15 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:15 p.m., with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Emily will be remembered for her faith, strong spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
