Mary Hansen

Mary Barbara Hansen of Louisville, CO, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born in Racine, WI, daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Nee: Iselin) Weyker.

She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1955 and was united in marriage to Donald Hansen in 1959, who preceded her in death in 1997. Mary was employed by SC Johnson and Oster as an administrative assistant and later managed the Horlick High School foreign language lab until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Racine and after moving to Colorado in 2006, joined St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was an active member. She participated in the Altar and Rosary Society, the Marthas, and quilting.

Mary enjoyed playing games, gardening, reading, attending shows, sewing, square dancing, and traveling. Some of her most memorable trips included Alaska, England and Hawaii, as well as family vacations to Door County. She treasured family and friends, and was thrilled when grandchildren arrived, relocating to Colorado to be close to them. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who approached life with positivity, grace, and kindness, always willing to lend a hand.

Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her children: Joseph Hansen, Diane (Shane) Ballard, and Ruth (Andre) Mazur; grandchildren: Olivia, Sebastien and Mckenzie Mazur, Spencer and Braden Ballard; daughter-in-law, Beverly Hansen; sister, Jeanne Menier; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael Hansen, brothers, Jerome and Thomas (Maye) Weyker, and sister, Patricia (Jerome) Simanek.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 902 Grant Avenue, Louisville, CO. A committal service and entombment will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 5600 Holy Cross Rd, Racine, WI. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend services in both CO and WI, and to meet with the family after the CO service on April 18 and beginning at 10:00am on May 8 in WI.
