Evelyn R Bales

Bales, Evelyn R. (Schmidt), 84, of St. Petersburg completed her journey to heaven on May 8, 2023 surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born in Covington, Kentucky and moved to Florida in 1968. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 62 years, Thomas A. Bales. She is survived by her four sons, Thomas (Andrea), Douglas (Denise), Michael (Sharon), and Jeffrey; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Evelyn was many things to many people including a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, caregiver, and mentor. She worked in the insurance industry while raising her family in St. Petersburg. Evelyn would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was her family and the many extended members, all of whom made her very proud. She was proud to be a devote Catholic and found great strength from her relationship with God. Evelyn cared about everyone and provided frequent prayer support for everyone she knew and many she did not. You will never meet a kinder or more religious person than Evelyn. Her shoes cannot be filled in this regard, but she would want us all to try. Everyone that knew her was blessed to have met such a rare and wonderful person. We all now have a special angel who will continue to watch over us all. No memorial service is planned at this time, Mrs. Evelyn Bales will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery Tuesday June 6th, 2023 at 12:30pm.
