George Sumpter Niblack

George Niblack passed away peacefully at home in St. Petersburg Florida on October 21, 2017 at the age of 85. He was a former resident of Duluth, Georgia. George was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 7, 1932 and was the only child of William and Eldridge Niblack. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Emory College, Atlanta Georgia in 1953. He served in the United States Army, received the National Defense Service Metal and was Honorably Discharged in 1961. He utilized his business sense and intelligence to run a very successful insurance brokerage, Insurance Services Underwriters. He enjoyed all books and was a fantastic storyteller. He had a love of golf, travel, boats, great scotch, the water, solitaire, mahjong, a good game of Tetris on his Gameboy back in the day, animals, the stock market and politics. He had the best smile and was likely the most photogenic man you ever met. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Maria Koustis. His children Kathy Niblack (Steve Higginbotham) of Madeira Beach, FL., George Niblack (Cheri) of Buford, GA. , Susanne Goocher (Sidney) of Ashford, AL. Grandchildren Tyler McCleskey (Karrie), Lindsey Niblack, Rider Goocher and Langleigh Goocher. Great Grandchildren Eli McCleskey and Tate McCleskey. He is also survived by Roxie, the sweetest, cutest bulldog in the world and quite possibly his favorite child. George was a wonderful father and husband who supported and provided for his family with love and honor. He led a very full life and will be extremely missed.
