Lillian N. Shane

Lillian Newell Shane, born November 17, 1917, went home to be united with her Lord and reunited with her late husband Lester Shane on Monday, September 8, 2014. She is survived by her son Ronald Shane, daughter Brenda Shane Ekkela, son Douglas Shane, daughter-in-law Marilee Shane, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Lillian married and her family lived in Colorado, California and Illinois before moving to Seminole, Florida in 1977 where she resided for the rest of her life. Lillian (better known as mom, grandma and great grandma) was a hard worker who loved being in her garden planting flowers, and taking care of her family throughout the years. She cooked Thanksgiving dinner every year up through the age of 95, when she finally relinquished the reins to the rest of the family. She loved playing card games, crocheting and putting together jigsaw puzzles, but her favorite activity was sitting in her chair every day working on her daily crossword puzzle. Although she will be missed here, she has left a legacy including her work ethic, her love for her family, her humor and her love for the Lord. There are so many great memories she created with us that we can share with each other, and we are so proud and thankful to have had her as our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Visitation & service will be held at Reese Funeral Home on Seminole Boulevard on Thursday, September 11th from noon-1:00, with a memorial service following. She will be laid to rest at the Garden Sanctuary on 131st Street in Seminole.
