T. Darlean Allen

T. Darlean Allen, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Peoria, IL, joined her Lord and Savior March 27, 2017. The youngest of ten siblings, she was born on February 17, 1931 to Robert L. and Mary Ellen (Jarboe) Spalding. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters. One sister, Mary Ellen (Bill) Chernisky survives. Darlean married Joseph R. Allen over 67 years ago on June 25, 1949. He survives along with her children, Joseph Allen II, Beverly (Rick) Simkins, John (Tina) Allen, Gail (Scott) Sexton, eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Darlean was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, beloved grandmother, an amazing aunt, and a friend to many. As a homemaker and mother she was always involved in her children's activities. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan and cheerleader. A talented crafter, she enjoyed sharing her creations with her extended family. Darlean was an avid tennis player, bowler, enjoyed bird watching, and playing cards. A Memorial Mass will be held May 6 at 11:30AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 116 W. Adams St Taylorsville, Illinois followed by a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall 401 S.
