William J. Ferro

William “Bill” J Ferro, 93, passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 20, 2021 in his St Petersburg FL home. Bill was born August 6, 1927 in Reading PA. As a young man, he went on to proudly serve in the US Marine Corps as a Corporal in WWII. Bill started several businesses; his early years were spent welding and later started and operated Bill’s Auto Service on Kutztown Rd in Reading PA for over 40 years, along with a long history of real estate development. In his retirement, he enjoyed Casinos, playing pinochle with friends, and continued telling funny stories. Bill was the son of late Carmelo and Catina (Danzi) Ferro. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara M (Kauffman) Ferro and their daughters Rose Marie Ferro Hummel and Janice Ferro. Surviving Bill is his loving and supportive partner Peggy Stoltz, son William Ferro and wife Marie of Laureldale PA, daughter Diane Soja and husband Edward of Wyomissing PA, daughter Lisa Bagenstone and husband Todd of Laureldale PA, and son Kyle K Ferro and wife Kathryn of Belleair Beach FL. Bill was also predeceased by his brothers, Orlando Ferro, Joseph Ferro, and his sister, Mary Pauley. There are seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at Gethsemane Cemetery on Friday July 23rd at 2pm.
