Manuel Hurtado Cid

Manuel Hurtado Cid lived a full life, marked by hard work, family devotion, and a deep love for his roots. Born in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, he built a long life in the United States spending many years in Ione, California, before living in Fresno, California and Emmett, Idaho, and returning to Ione in his later years. He retired from the Simplot Company in 2001 after many years of dedicated service. Manuel was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. He is survived by his four children, Trini, Salvador, Luis (Teresa), and Graciela, along with 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He also deeply valued his many cherished friendships throughout his life. He was very involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, where he served as a mentor to many, and proudly celebrated over 45 years of sobriety. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, taking walks on sunny days, and spending time with his family. He will now return to his beloved hometown of Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, for interment. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
