Charles E. Watson

Sep 26, 1952 — Oct 12, 2026

Charles, affectionately known as Charlie, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 12, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on September 26, 1952, in Bartow, Florida, Charlie was the cherished son of Willie and Margaret, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his beloved brother, Howard.

Charlie was a proud veteran, having served his country for 9 years, including as an MP, in the US Army. After his honorable service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career with Harris Corporation until his retirement. A man of simple pleasures, Charlie found joy in the tranquil moments of life—whether it was casting a line into the water while fishing or cheering on the Atlanta Braves with his father by his side.

His nephew Michael and his wife Elizabeth remember Charlie not just as an uncle, but as a companion in adventure. Together, Michael and Charlie shared many weekends of hunting, camping, and air boating, creating memories that Michael will treasure forever. Charlie had a special place in his heart for both Michael and Melissa since he didn't have children of his own. His sister-in-law Jane holds dear to the bond they shared for over 50 years, providing comfort and strength to one another.

Charlie was a beloved figure in his community—a simple country boy with a sweet disposition, whose humor and quick wit endeared him to many. His lifelong friends often recall his laughter and the warmth he brought into their lives. Charlie's legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and an unwavering joy for life.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Charlie’s honor on November 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Ballard Park, located at 924 Thomas Barbour Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and tears as they remember Charlie's extraordinary life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Charlie's memory to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association, both organizations that were close to his heart.

As the family reflects on the life of a wonderful man, they wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Charlie will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
