Dorothy Jean Theroux

“Jean” Dorothy Coughlin Theroux of Melbourne Florida passed away peacefully on May 22 2026 at the age of 77.

Born on 12-19-1948 to John Coughlin and Blanche Chalifoux in Columbia CT, she lived a full and remarkable life.

After graduating from Windham High in 1966 Jean built a career as a Procurement Specialist with Pratt and Whitney, where she took on many new recruits placing them under her wing and was an amazing mentor and inspiring leader, she retired with 45 successfully dedicated years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her partner Thomas Hamilton, her daughter and Son in law Kerri Lyn Coughlin Moore and Benjamin Moore, her sister Chris Coughlin Field, Brother in law Rick Field and nephew Andy Field

She enjoyed volunteering both in her work life and in retirement. Working with food pantries and local shelters, she delivered food, and helped run children’s programs in addition to assisting the police explorers youth program.

She was known for her generosity, positive outlook and always willing to help attitude.

She will be cremated and returned to earth rooted in love with a tree. May her memory continue to bring beauty into the world. As this tree grows, may it stand as a living tribute to a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved
