In Loving Memory of Kevin Hennes
Kevin Hennes, 56, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2026.
Kevin was born in Riverhead, New York, and later moved to Brevard County, Florida, where he spent the remainder of his life. He dedicated most of his career to working as a mason, earning the respect of those around him through his hard work, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Kevin truly enjoyed life. He loved spending time on his boat, proudly serving as its captain, where some of his happiest memories were made with family and friends. Whether it was a day out on the water, relaxing in the Florida sunshine, or simply enjoying good company, Kevin believed life was meant to be enjoyed.
Family was the center of Kevin's world. He looked forward to family dinners, loved bringing everyone together, and never passed up the chance to enjoy dessert—he had a legendary sweet tooth that everyone knew about. He found joy in the little things and loved creating memories with the people he loved most.
Kevin will be remembered not only for his caring and loving heart but also for his goofy personality and wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh, joking around, and keeping everyone smiling. His playful spirit was contagious, and he could turn an ordinary day into one filled with laughter. Kevin never took life too seriously and had a special way of reminding everyone around him to have fun, enjoy the moment, and appreciate the time spent together. His smile was constant, his laugh unforgettable, and his positive attitude made everyone feel welcome.
Kevin had a special place in his heart for his dogs, who were never just pets—they were family. He was a proud dog dad who adored his beloved companions, Otis and Olaf. Otis, who preceded him in death, held a forever place in Kevin's heart, and he often shared stories and memories of him. Olaf, lovingly nicknamed "Puppers," was Kevin's faithful sidekick and constant companion. Whether relaxing at home, spending time outside, or greeting him with unconditional excitement at the end of the day, Olaf brought Kevin endless happiness. The bond they shared was one of loyalty, comfort, and unconditional love, and anyone who knew Kevin knew just how much his dogs meant to him.
Kevin is survived by his father, Ron Hennes; his sisters, Laura, Sandra, Michelle, Sherry, and Shawn; his nieces and nephews, Brandon, Tawny, Lisa, Jack, Samantha, Rob, Krista, Tyler, Zack, Nicole, Jennifer, Joey, Jeff, James, and John; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cannon, Cece, DeeDee, Isla, Matt, Cassy, Harley, Luna, Jazz, Christian, Sebastian, Neveah, Gunner, Samyiah, Sierrah, Selinah, Alexandria, Charlotte, Abigail, Serenity, and Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Detrick; his nephew, Jordan; his niece, Danielle; his great-niece, Elizabeth; his beloved dog, Otis.
Kevin's legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and family. He showed those around him the importance of working hard, loving deeply, laughing often, and cherishing every moment with family—including the four-legged members. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories of his goofy jokes, warm hugs, infectious smile, days spent on the boat, and the unconditional love he shared with both people and animals will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
