Nicholas H. Isoldi, 92, passed away on June 11, 2026, after a lengthy illness.
Born in New York City on July 1, 1933, Nicholas was adopted and raised by Joseph and Marie Isoldi of Staten Island, New York. He lived a life defined by service.
Nicholas honorably served in the United States Navy for more than 24 years and was a proud veteran of both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He completed two tours in Vietnam. During his first tour aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64), he served as a Damage Controlman First Class, performing critical duties as a firefighter, emergency responder, and engineer. He later served aboard the USS Wright (CVL-49) as an Aerographer’s Mate First Class, specializing in meteorology and oceanographic operations.
Following his military career, Nicholas continued his service in civilian roles, working for over 10 years as a security guard at McKeesport Hospital in Pennsylvania. After relocating to Palm Bay, Florida, he continued his work in security at Holmes Regional Medical Center and later at Palm Bay Hospital.
Nicholas was married to Anna Marie Ucman of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, for 45 years. The couple retired to Palm Bay, Florida, in 1990, where they lived until her passing in August 1997.
Nick is survived by his devoted companion and fiancée, Mari Dietz. He will be deeply missed by Mari’s extended family, who warmly embraced him into their lives.
He is survived by his three children:
• Daniel H. Isoldi and his wife Connie; their son Nicholas J. Isoldi and his wife Karen, and their children Reed and Miles.
• Laura Jean Kovacs and her husband Robert; their son Ryan C. Kovacs and his wife Danielle, and their children Kendall and Dominick.
• Patricia Marie Isoldi-O’Reilly and her companion, Dan Dukic, are remembered by her daughter, Brandy, who preceded him in death and Brandy’s husband, Ryan Blamick.
Nicholas enjoyed an active lifestyle and had a lifelong passion for sports. He was an avid softball player during his Navy years and later served as an umpire for 15 years, known for his strong presence and fair Judgment. He also enjoyed golfing and often joked that completing nine holes without losing a ball made for a perfect day.
Nicholas will be remembered for his dedication to his country and his strong and spirited nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
