Robert William Wooten

Sep 15, 1949 — Oct 21, 2026

Robert William Wooten (“Doc”) was born in New Jersey on September 15, 1949, to parents Elma Jeane Wooten (Martins) and George Melvin Wooten. After living on several army bases, the Wooten family moved to Glendale, Arizona. Robert thrived in Glendale. Robert had several jobs there, including as a computer programmer for the City of Glendale. Outside of working, Robert was a big participant in 60’s counterculture and art in the Valley. Under the name of “Doctor Nebula” (providing the longtime nickname of “Doc”), he loved to make “light shows” and provide other media services for music shows and art events. He made many friends and had many very happy memories of time spent participating in cultural events at the Alwun House in downtown Phoenix.

In the late 1990s, Doc moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida, to become a caregiver for his uncle and namesake, Robert Martins. After his uncle moved to Australia to be cared for by his children, Doc decided to stay in Florida. In Florida, Doc started a pool maintenance business and became an active member of the Chapel by the Sea Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida.

Doc was a talkative man. He made an impression on most people he met. He was a friendly, loving human. He will be greatly missed in this world.

He is survived by his sister, Donna Potter; nephews, Micah Huerta and Jonas Delahuerta; great-nephews, Jonas Delahuerta and Josiah Delahuerta; and great-niece, Mia Delahuerta.
